I’m Rachel Vaz, a trauma-informed psychologist who works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, relationship concerns, and the many challenges that come with modern life.
I have been practicing as a psychologist since 2019, with over six years of experience across diverse mental health settings. My professional journey includes working as a counsellor in schools, rehabilitation centres, and in-patient facilities, which has given me a grounded understanding of emotional challenges across life stages. Alongside psychology, I also work as a yoga therapist and mindfulness coach. This allows me to view mental health not only through the mind, but also through the body, nervous system, and daily habits — especially when supporting stress, burnout, and emotional regulation. My work is rooted in consistency, empathy, and practical insight. Therapy with me is not about quick fixes, but about building understanding, stability, and long-term emotional resilience.
My work is trauma-informed, client-centered, and integrative in nature. This means your emotional safety always comes first, and therapy is adapted to what you need rather than forcing you into a fixed structure. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, REBT, and DBT, using tools from these models thoughtfully and flexibly. Some clients benefit from structured techniques, while others need space to process, reflect, and feel understood. I pay close attention to what supports you best in each phase of therapy. Sessions are collaborative and conversational. I don’t position myself as an authority over your life — instead, we work together to understand patterns, build emotional skills, and create changes that feel practical and sustainable in your everyday world.
