Neha Sharma

Psychologist

I am a professional who believes that healing begins when a person feels genuinely seen, heard, and emotionally safe. My counselling style is rooted in validation—helping clients feel understood in their experiences rather than judged, rushed, or “fixed.”

Experience & Background

I have 2 years of experience working as a psychologist across educational and counselling settings.

I have worked extensively with children aged 5–15 years, collaborating closely with parents and teachers to support emotional, behavioural, and social development. My role included:

  • Everyday counselling and emotional check-ins
  • Conflict resolution and crisis management
  • Life skills classes focused on emotional awareness, communication, and resilience

For the past one year, I have been working with young adults at WeListen, supporting them with emotional well-being concerns—primarily focusing on emotional resilience, stress, relationship challenges, and self-understanding.

My work is grounded in real-world application, making therapy relevant, practical, and sustainable beyond sessions.

Therapeutic Approach

My work is grounded in a structured yet compassionate framework, combining Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and psychoeducation to support meaningful and lasting change.

Using REBT, we explore how beliefs, thoughts, and interpretations influence emotional reactions and behaviours. Together, we gently identify unhelpful or rigid belief patterns and work toward developing healthier, more flexible ways of thinking that support emotional balance and resilience. The focus is not on blaming or forcing change, but on building awareness and emotional responsibility.

CBT helps connect everyday thoughts, emotions, and actions, making challenges feel more understandable and manageable. Sessions often include practical strategies that clients can apply in daily life, especially for stress, anxiety, emotional regulation, and self-esteem concerns.

Psychoeducation plays an important role in my work, particularly with children, adolescents, parents, and young adults. Understanding emotional responses, behaviour patterns, and developmental needs helps reduce confusion, self-criticism, and fear.

Alongside these, I integrate:

  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Strength-based and solution-focused conversations
  • Developmentally appropriate interventions
  • Practical tools that support real-life application

My approach is collaborative, balanced, and paced according to the client’s readiness—offering both emotional support and cognitive clarity.

What You Can Expect in Sessions

Authentic Human Connection: I don’t believe in being a "blank wall." You can expect a genuine, engaged conversation where I bring my real self to the room. We may use humor, directness, and active dialogue to work through the tough stuff together.

Addressing Roots, Not Just Symptoms: While we will tackle your immediate stress, we also look beneath the surface. By understanding the "why" behind your patterns, we create lasting transformation instead of just a temporary fix.

Empowerment Toward Independence: My goal is to give you the tools to eventually become your own therapist. We work toward a future where you feel fully equipped to navigate life’s challenges using your own internal resilience.

Compassionate Accountability: I will gently highlight when your actions don't align with your stated goals. You can expect me to hold a mirror up to your patterns—always with kindness—to help you stay on the path you’ve chosen.

Integration Into Daily Life: Therapy doesn’t end when the session does. You can expect practical "takeaways" or small experiments to try during your week, helping you bridge the gap between our conversations and your real-world experiences.
